The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) offers rigorous but flexible curricula that allow students to design their own programs of study and pursue an education that builds on their unique interests, backgrounds, and career goals. IDS Students complete an interdisciplinary core that emphasizes critical thinking and communication skills, fosters cultural understanding, and engages them in both interdisciplinary theory and practice to support learning in their chosen concentration.

Are you having difficulty finding a degree program that is designed for your career goals? If so, then the BA in Interdisciplinary Studies may be the program for you. This flexible degree program allows you, the student, to meet with an academic advisor to create a degree designed with your needs in mind. In addition to an area of concentration, your degree will allow you to select electives that will compliment your concentration. You will additionally take a set of core classes that will help connect the different areas of study to have an integrated degree that is right for you. Artists can minor in business and study graphic design, Spanish speakers can include Humanities classes discussing culture, and creative writers can study social media and web design. Whatever areas you need to combine, we will make every effort to work with you in creating a degree program that is right for you.
